Scrivener - Adding a Map to Front Matter

I wanted to add a map to the front matter of my novel. Doing this in Scrivener is slightly trickier than I anticipated, and took some experimentation to get right.

This is my process:

1. Add your new content

1. Create a new document in the Front Matter folder (right click on folder, Add->New Text) of the publication type you're focusing on (e.g. Ebook)

2. Drag your image onto the new document's surface. Centering it is often a good idea. Add a caption if that's appropriate

3. Ensure the new document is placed where you want it (e.g. following the *Dedication* document)

2. Tag its type as *front matter*

1. Select your document in the Binder

2. Ensure the Inspector panel is visible (click on the blue *i* icon)

3. Click on the *tag* icon in the inspector

4. See that the *Include in Compile* box is checked

5. Set the *Section type* to *Front Matter*

3. Compile

1. Compile the book to the appropriate type (e.g. Ebook)

2. See that *Add front matter* is checked

3. Open the dropdown nest to *Add front matter* and see that your new document is present

4. Compile and check the output for correctness
